About Us
In August 1996, KDH Catering Design Concepts opened its doors to a relatively unknown niche market. KDH is a design consultancy and do not supply equipment. Our independence of any equipment supplier ensures continued growth and support from Architects to Developers and Owners / Operators.
Dewar Hastings, the founding member joined forces with partner Charlie Davis in 1997 and together saw the company grow from strength to strength. In 2000 much required new staff were employed and in the same year KDH moved to new premises to accommodate this growth.
DEWAR HASTINGS
has an architectural background, was a director on the board of the SA Chefs Association, and has an interest in interior design. He worked for one of the leading Catering companies for 16 years and was the General Manager of the Design Division.
CHARLIE DAVIS
has a mechanical engineering background and had spent 22 years with one of the leading catering equipment manufacturers. He specialized in product development and the hotel industry, and left the company as National Sales and Marketing Director.
RAY HARRISON
has 10 years’ prior sales experience, and joined the company in 2012. He has trained under both Charlie and Dewar and he has grown in experience and is a vital part of the team. In November 2016, Ray became an official Partner of KDH.
JEAN SMIT
Joined our team at the beginning of 2016. He has professional qualifications in Revit, AutoCAD and Inventor. He is currently training under Ray and Dewar.
Between them there is in excess of 70 years’ experience in the industry. Frequent visits to local and international trade exhibitions ensure that knowledge of the latest technology and developments is available to the local industry.
In addition, KDH are up to date with manufacturing trends, including the changes in stainless steel and machinery technology.
